Does it have the mayonnaise jars that were used to seal the questions for Carnac the Magnificent?
Oh, that was Funk and Wagnalls.
Never mind.

I used to work with a guy who was also a guitarist. He played some backup for the Commodore’s and said something about playing with Parliament Funkadelic at one point. Probably a session player.

"When black music was fun!"
Saw the Ohio Players in '76 in Orlando, and Rick James in New Haven in '80-something. Always regret never catching Sly and the Family Stone.
You're right - that was FUN music!

I still say, of all the performers at Woodstock, Sly and the Family Stone blew everyone else off the stage.

When I was 15, I was the one white boy in a funk band. Truth.
"Play that funky music, white boy!"

It was fun. This was about 1980-81 (damn, I’m old). We played pep rallies at the high school, gigs in town, parties. And we had our own parties. 100 people, I was the only white guy, never had any problems.
