I can’t help but watch it every year. So many great buzz-phrases in there.

Having grown up in NYC, I would frequently listen to Shepherd on WOR, where among the many army stories and mill stories, there would be many references to all the events portrayed in "Christmas Story". There is also a few Shepherd books which tell the stories as well (frinstance, Wanda Hickey's Night of Golden Memories.

At this site, you can listen to many of his WOR shows from the late 50's thru 70's

Thank you. The house in Cleveland where they filmed is a tourist attraction. And I get a personal laugh having gone to grad school with and dated a girl with the last name of Bumpus. Maybe the best depiction of American life before the 60’s more or less ruined it.
