“no they had to destroy the entire past series to show how cool they are.”

They didn’t destroy anything. Let me preface this with a declaration of completely despising Disney. I feel like weak minded scum having spent $10 to watch “The Last Jedi”. I wish I could lie and say that I hated it, but I didn’t.

Overall, I didn’t think the movie was bad. I mostly enjoyed it. It was different. Nothing I expected to happen had happened. I kind of dug that. I think they screwed up by trying to do too much and the run time was too long, but I didn’t leave the theater baffled and disappointed like I did after “Attack of the Clones” and “Revenge of the Sith”. My biggest gripe was that the soundtrack wasn’t anything memorable this time ... there wasn’t a single piece from the film that echoed in my head after I left the theater.

Despite reports to the contrary, there isn’t much, if any, PC nonsense (you can argue the casino scene was just that, but there’s a lot of fact behind that scene). Some people are angry about a woman being the main Jedi and a black man being a major character ... I think those kinds of idiots are either SJWs trying to cause a social ruckus (that includes the actor who plays Finn himself) or people so obsessed with a fictitious past that they can’t let go of anything. I kind of dig all of the new major characters ... they’re not bad! :-)

People are expecting wayyyyyy too much from a kids movie. I like Star Wars in that it makes me forget about life for a couple of hours and reminds me of my youth. I don’t like to dwell in the past, but sometimes it doesn’t hurt to take a trip down memory lane and unwind. It helps to refresh the brain.

Unfortunately, a sort-of religion has sprung up around this (flawed) story ... people go bonkers when it’s seemingly screwed with and lash out at the “heretics” that created this new chapter. Frankly, they need help. If the stupid movies were made to be “realistic”, there would be no sounds during space battles and everyone in a rather large blast radius would have died instantly when the death stars blew up (Yavin and Endor would have been a real mess after the explosion of a nearby moon sized space station).

If people flat out didn’t like it, so be it. However, these reviews are quite off the hook if you ask me. The critics are full of nonsense (it’s not as good as they’re saying it is ... they’re clearly kissing up to Disney), but the fan reviews indicate some people having way too much spare time on their hands and need to quite living in this fake universe :-).

/rant off :-)

An 18 year old grandson saw it Sunday.

His opinion—”I liked it but it was too long.”

.
Disney is stuck in Obama Mode.

They won’t be making Disney Great Again.

That’s a lot of bluster and typing for a kids movie.

It sucked - it was full of PC nonsense no matter how much truthiness you think it is.

Frankly you’re the perfect Disney customer (although you claim to hate Disney)
