IMO the agenda is otherwise. When gun control law after gun control law fails, the left sees that as incrementalism towards confiscation. They mostly loathe the concepts of personal self-defense and self-reliance, so they see no need for the peasants to be armed.

However, it's not a dissent no matter how you spell it. A dissent is an opinion disagreeing with the majority. This decision was the opinion of the Court (meaning it was the opinion of the majority.)

The correct word here is reversal.
