I got so sick of commercials that I only watch streaming TV shows, streaming movies, and DVD movies. That avoids the commercial problem entirely. I have a Tivo DVR and rarely use it any more — fast forwarding through the incessant commercials is such a pain in the neck. I mainly use the Tivo to access Amazon streaming and that’s about it.
lots of sequels and super hero planned for release next year. If this holds, a lot of money will be lost. Disney has two top hits right now. Coco is over 450 mill and the new one already hit 450 million worldwide in less than a week. Difficult to know how to bet.
I have been going to movies since 1950. At time sone a week. Now one the last 11 months. Content to stream and wait for them to be available on streaming services. But teens go and mommy and daddy give them money.

PS I have anew system. I read movie reviews online and in the LA Slimes (free where I have breakfast) I run a list of movies I want to see and then wait for them to come on cable or streaming. My Netflix and amazon are about 40% of what I used to spend month on movies. a lot less if I hit the snack bar.
IIRC China eats up our action films and that’s a good growing market.
They’re crazy about Buicks, too. Go figure.
really? Are they all senior citizens?
Most Americans associate Buick with a bygone era, but the GM-owned brand has a devoted following in the world’s most populous nation.
“The average Buick customer’s age in China is about 35,” said Jean Liu-Barnocki, general director for Buick in China. “So it’s definitely not your grandfather’s or your father’s Buick.”

In the U.S., Buick is trying to convince people it’s cool to own one of its cars. In the brand’s current TV ads, fashionable young people are surprised to find a Buick that doesn’t look like a stodgy old dad wagon.
There’s no need to make that case with drivers in China, where Buick, outsells Honda, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
And some of those sets (and actors) were also seen on early Mission:Impossible episodes that were being shot next door at Desilu.

Thanx that’s more Buick than I car about but interesting. I have owned 13 Hondas in my life. When both my kids were in HS we had 4 hondas at the house.
“Percentage of gross it the way to go.”
Yup. And if it is a book to movie deal you should ask for a co-writer and a co-producer and co-anything else you can. Per the unions those credits all come with a fat check. A different fat check for each.
I am looking forward to the social justice “pressure” to see Black Panther. They will be “shocked” that white people will go see it. If it sucks we will all be racist for not going.
