The important theory advanced by Clube and Napier, in The Cosmic Serpent, is that our sun's gravity captures interstellar debris. These long period comets that sling shot around the sun and then back out to the Oort cloud are probably recently in our solar system from a supernova that took place some 300,000 years ago, as speculated by Firestone in his book.

The photo of the debris on Mars is a photo that must be of a rather recent strike, since it is on the surface.

This must be happening all over the cosmos. Thank God our solar system has the big vacuum cleaner Jupiter, or humanity would probably not have made it this far.

I'd like to hear more from these guys who did this article.
