The head, legs, feet, hands, butt have been common places for implants. Neither of us can recall what the frequency percentages are for each. Many times a normal X-Ray image misses them because they can be quite small and the MD is not used to looking for them.

The ones in the leg tend to be in the calf. We don't recall about the ones in the foot. Head ones can be in ears, sides of head etc. Some even inserted up the nose into the brain--as mystifying and horrible as that sounds.

For some reason, near/in the elbow, as crazy as that sounds, is not unusual.

MRI's tend to show them up more than X-Rays, even CAT scans.

Anyway--some people want them left in. Others fiercely not.
