I appreciate your recommendations, especially in light of the frequency of those Bible study gatherings. AndI will try to follow-up. But I won't be around or have anything to do with the worldly, apostate, so-called contemporary worship. If I see a drum set or amplifiers on stage I'm making an immediate U-turn and leaving quickly. Gone!!! I'm now way, way beyond patience with this hip, jazzy, cool "praise team"/Hillsong music junk. And It's probably the main reason I'm leaving the missionary site I've been at for four years.

There is a church in Kalamazoo, Mi that touts and follows "Reverent worship and Expository teaching." I plan to visit there from SoCal. I've already listened via internet and found it to be Very good stuff. Excellent teaching. "

Our Bible study does use some praise songs occasionally, but it’s not a worship service with communion; it’s basically a rev-’em-up intro to the study session that follows. The study is very seriously Biblical.
