I eventually bought a wrist watch that told me what day of the week it is.
I had to wear a wrist watch every day of my working life so I could make sure I was where I needed to be at a certain time. I worked in the prison system. Also used a calendar watch. It came in handy when writings reports and signing log books when I made my rounds. I threw out the watch I'd worn all those years after I retired, but then had to buy another cheap one a few years later when I went overseas on vacation. I took a three week tour of the British Isles, and needed the watch to keep track of time, and make sure I was back at the bus stop when they came to pick us up. Haven't worn it since.
I've always worn such a watch. It makes no difference because I seldom look at that part of the diplay. Not knowing what day of the week it is drives my daughter crazy. It makes me smile.
And no one knows about it until the days actually disappear as a meaningful element of time.
The batt in my watch died, and I haven't bothered to replace it. Fortunately, my phone gives the *day-o-the-week* which I find useful [more useful than I like to admit].
Ain't it great?
