It’s remarkable that beavers have made a comeback on Staten Island. I wonder where they migrated from. I mean, it isn’t like there’s any nearby wilderness. The New Jersey side of the Arthur kill is oil refineries and power generating stations and other noxious uses.
I grew up in Carteret and never saw a beaver of the rodent variety.
