How long did it take you to get used to the machine? Are you using a mask? Did you see improvements quickly?
Not as long as I thought I would. Just a couple of days to adjust the straps and pressure and I was good to go. Still a pain to have to put it on, but I seem to actually drift off faster with it on than I did without it.
Are you using a mask?
Yep. Covers nose and mouth. I have BAD apnea and need a lot of pressure.
Did you see improvements quickly?
Almost immediately. According to my Watch I now sleep soundly - no more mysterious "waking" activity. My heart rate is lower at night. I wake up more refreshed. I used to hit a "wall" at 3:00pm everyday, where I just really wanted to take a nap. No more. I still have energy at the end of the workday and if I have to work late, I still get home feeling awake.
To chime in on the topic, I got one a while back, and while the mask does take some getting used to, the difference is night & day.
I was actually at the point where I realized that I was waking up at night gagging when someone made me go to the doctor. Once I had the machine, it went away immediately.
An added benefit for me in dry, allergy filled TX climate is that it has a built in humidifier and micro filter, so in addition to helping with the apnea, it helps me out with allergies ... a lot.
I’ve had mine for 10 years. First year I had it, I left it at home for a weekend trip. Almost fell asleep a dozen times on the drive home. I don’t go anywhere without mine now.
