My good friend, the writer Lawrence Auster, who was himself born Jewish, but later converted to Christianity said that because of Jews special gifts it is especially important for them to follow their faith, when the fall away it is worse then, say, a Baptist no longer practicing his faith.
That is a sort of supernatural explanation, which I am not given too, but it is still how I tend to think about this.
My point too. When you make a decision early on to ignore all that you were taught about kindness and morality, who knows where to draw the line on character and behavior?
