Just when the goats were beginning to feel safe...now they have to go to dark theaters on date night.
MbS, if he can avoid assassination, could turn SA into the 900lb gorilla of ME. MbS could be as powerful as the Shah of Iran was, could turn SA into a majority secular society as the Shah did in Iran and could be a major pro-Western ally as the Shah was.
The reason I mention and compare MbS to the Shah is because the ME was a stable region when the Shah was in power. Sure there were tribal skirmishes btw Sunni and Shites, but nothing that affected the production, flow or sale of oil.
For a young man, MbS has learned well about how to consolidate his power over his cousins and uncles. To the best of my knowledge, Prince Talal continues to experience inversion therapy at the Riyadh Carlton.
Until these recent events by MbS, I personally longed to see the day that the House of Saud would be so poor that the Sauds would return to herding their goats from oasis to oasis to feed their family.
