Titanic - never once did the movie convince me that a young woman engaged to a rich fiancé is going to throw all of that away for a fling with a bum.
Miracle on 34th Street - Argggghhhhhh!
Terms of Endearment - No character development, we are confronted immediately with this young woman’s cancer diagnosis. Then there are half-hearted attempts to develop some depth to the characters which are derailed by the fact that we are supposed to be mourning the fact that this young woman is dying of cancer. We do find out that she’s going to leave her kids motherless, information no doubt intended to invoke uncontrollable sobs from the audience. Oh, and did I mention that the main female protagonist is dying of cancer? I don’t know how I managed to sit through the whole thing, but I did get up about every ten or fifteen minutes to let my husband know, “She’s still dying!”
Amadeus - Couldn’t get through 20 minutes of it.
I do remember in the theater, when Jack became a popsicle, all the guys cheered.
Amadeus is such crap.
