Thanks. Been trying to find the original recording and always end up finding a re-recording that frankly sucks.

I don’t know much about Badfinger. Were the Beatles involved with them, or did they just copy the style?

Badfinger was signed to the Bearles’ Apple Records. I know Paul contributed some harmony vocals on some songs.

This is one of my all-time favorites. I remember hearing it (decades ago) and thinking it was The Beatles, and being shocked to discover it wasn’t.

That was really good at the end of the TV show Breaking Bad.

Badfinger’s story is one of the sadder ones in rock history.

When the Beatles formed Apple, their record company, Badfinger was among the first bands they took under their wing for it.
Paul wrote and produced “Come and Get It” for them.
And George produced and played the slide guitar on this song posted “Day After Day”.

The Beatle boost was nice for them but I think their own musical identity got lost because of it in the end.

There is a song by War on Drugs, Pain, that has a very similar riff that reminds me so much of the Dire Straights.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9LgHNf2Qy0

Go to bed now I can tell
Pain is on the way out now
Look at the way the domino falls away
I know it’s hard looking in
Knowing that tomorrow you’ll be back again
Hang your head and let me in, I’m waiting
So long

I was staring into the light
When I saw you in the distance, I knew that you’d be mine
Am I moving back in time?
Just standing still?

He deserved a lot worse. `Walter White’ was an evil guy.

George Harrison played guitar and produced Badfinger’s hits. They should’ve stuck with the Apple label.
