As that rare, exotic, and occasionally controversial creature, the lifelong straight bachelor, I am perpetually confused over how women insist they want a man who treats them right, then turn around and give themselves to brutes.
I suspect this might have something to do with their most basic urges confusing barbarism with masculinity.
At age 59, I’m content that I’ve put this all behind me. Dating was too often like a really bad job interview — with the main difference being that I had to pay for it.
I’ve always prided myself on being a gentleman of the old school — which, even back in the 1980s and 1990s, I have no doubt women found very boring indeed.
But there was no way I was going to fake a “cool” or “bad boy” persona just to get chicks. Just like I would never date a woman who dressed provocatively.
Of course the ultimate problem is that even the women who seem modest and intelligent, still want to date cads, brutes, and bad boys.
There is absolutely no way you can win with women today — and that goes back to my dating years in the 1980s, and 1990s. How can you win with narcissistic females who don’t know who they are, what they want, and who have been totally confused by a corrupt media?
There are worse things in life than being alone. Being manipulated and being taken advantage of are two of them.

My advice, for what it is worth—live life a day at a time and be involved in activities you really enjoy.
Something good could still happen—without warning or any planning on your part.
From the other side of the gender divide, I agree with you that it’s better to be alone than trapped in a bad relationship. I’d like a good relationship where you live apart and don’t have the right to control the other’s life. Something like when you were 17 and still lived at home, and you got together solely because you were having so much fun. Yeah, I know, wish me luck. I’m not giving up hope tho.
And people marvel that sex robots are becoming a thing.
