absolute tragedy - senseless death of a beautiful young woman - clinic should have x-rayed her lungs - she died of pneumonia, not the flu.
How is her death senseless. 36,000 people in the the US die of flu every year. Flu has a significant mortality rate and people should get the vaccine annually.
Very often, influenza leaves people extremely susceptible to bacterial infections. She would not have gotten pneumonia had she not been sick with the flu.
Flu can turn into pneumonia very easily. It happened to me some years ago.
Late August I had pneumonia(for the first time EVER) in my left lung. Had sore/raw throat, a chest rattle, and the absolute worst cough I have ever had in my life. A cough so bad it almost made me vomit.
And, the med stop doctor surprised me by diagnosing it by simply using her stethoscope. Uh, you have pneumonia in your left lung and we are going to verify it with a chest x-ray.
Really shocked me. At worst I thought I had bronchitis, which I’ve had one time before. I asked her how the hell I got it.... and she said from living.
I hope they do a full investigation....I wonder if working in a warehouse if she might have been exposed to hanta virus...
