Flynn plead guilty to a PROCESS crime. That's it. That process crime is he "lied" to the FBI for failing to disclose he was speaking to Russian counter-parts after the election, allegedly at the behest of a higher-up in the President Elect Trump Transition Team.
There was NOTHING ILLEGAL with setting up or even having conversations with Russian Counterparts after the election, period. It's commonplace, and it's part of the transition process to guarantee a smooth transition from an outgoing Administration to the incoming Administration. It's part of our peaceful transfer of power.
IN FACT, Obama did the EXACT SAME THING when he rushed out after the 2012 elections and setup the very first "Office of the President Elect" which included usage of the Presidential Seal. That caused a HUGE uproar -- am I the only one who remembers that? And now Obama says "we can only have one President at a time!" when he himself usurped then President Bush's Presidential Power at every turn before he himself was sworn into office. But I digress.
Where Flynn broke the law was in denying he was setting up those conversations, participating in them AND had connections that he'd previously failed to disclose.
That's lying to the FBI - a PROCESS crime.
Now, if Robert Mueller had anything more serious on Flynn than a process crime, he'd use that FIRST to apply the maximum pressure for Flynn's cooperation in any investigation. Prosecutors DO NOT press for cooperation by applying pressure with the least crime first. They apply the maximum pressure they can with the maximum charge they can.
The fact that Robert Mueller is charging Flynn with lying to the FBI, a "process" crime tells us that as of right now, Mueller has a big nothing burger on President Trump.
Color me not worried at all.
