FULL TITLE: Should we talk about the fact that women in positions of power are sexually abusing minors under their authority too?
Life isn't like a Van Halen song.
I know what you're going to say. No teenage boy will object to this type of "abuse." Just as the sexes are inherently different, the distinguishing factor here is that the women in question didn't want the sexual attention. The boys not only wanted it but probably couldn't believe their luck.
But you're forgetting something.
There's a reason we have an age of consent that applies to both boys and girls, and the reason is that the law doesn't consider teenagers mature enough to make decisions about sex. (That's because they're not.) A cute female teacher in her 20s who decides to have sex with a teenage male student may be giving him the experience of his dreams, but that doesn't mean she isn't doing him harm.
Try for a minute not to think with your flesh. She's in a position of authority over him, and by involving herself with him sexually with him, she's not only introducing a very complicating factor into the teacher/student relationship - although she's certainly doing that. She's also messing with his psyche, as anyone will understand is a sticky wicket when you're dealing with the way sexual experiences influence the development of the male self-concept.
And: When a teacher is having sex with her students, she's got a secret she needs to protect on penalty of job loss at the least and jail at the worst. She's now putting that teenage boy in the very uncomfortable position of having to help protect that secret.

The problem is that many teen boys are not going to be able to treat this as simply a free romp in the sack. Many are emotionally immature and prone to becoming attached. Its difficult enough getting used and rejected by someone your own age, so I would expect some of these guys have been left with significant emotional harm from the experience.
Lesbian doctors prey on nurses and other doctors and I know of one day shift bar / restaurant who’d have her way with the waitresses and fire them when the sexual relationship soured.
It happens, women aren’t supposed to rat out their sistas.
And you left out the most important information.....you were still a child with a developing brain. Your capacity to give consent did not exist regardless of what your little head told you
The left has sexualized the under 18 crowd for years while calling adults at 26 children who can live off their folks all the while destroying marriage. I can’t think of a better recipe for disaster in a society.
Stands to reason perverts will get into professions that relate to kids of all ages.
Anyway, what does consent have to do with it. Consent, as I get the thinking, only applies to virginity. You can't tell when a boy becomes sexually active; more importantly, neither can he get pregnant!
I was racing power boats when I was fifteen, my capacity to make decisions, all kinds, was pretty well developed. No young, pretty teacher would be outside my still-developing mental capacity! Maybe I'm an exception, but I don't think so. I used to go to a lot of airplane soaring events. They give full-sized gliders to young men and women at age 14 to fly solo!
I rest my admittedly non-professional case.
Male or female particularly in the teen aged years do not have, by development, their full mental capacity.
You are the one who brought up lowering the age of consent. My point is that it ought to be raised. The brain development of a teen ager is sufficiently deficient to be able to give adult consent.
Additionally you look back on your teen aged self and think you were smarter and more mature than you were
These women are no less scum than the men who prey on teenage students.
By putting these all too-often STUPID boys (believe me, I know) in ADULT situations you are not only damaging them mentally, but you are putting them in a position where a jealous spouse or ex can do some VERY REAL physical harm to them in the name of “honor”.
