Just watching it wither and die with Goodell at the helm, is far better. Just think of all the “goodness” that would come from the NFL going out of business.
1. Colleges and universities could cut their athletic departments and the exorbitant pay that these non-academics who run them get.
2. We could start the process of unwinding all the municipal debt that’s been incurred building stadiums.
3. The TV sports revenue would be severely cut ( it could be gone if we got rid of the NBA and MLB at the same time) and cause a wholesale restructuring of their networks businesses.
4. Millions of overweight beer drinking slobs would find time to spend with their families and to do the things that normal people do around the house.
5. Minority utes, would have to search for more worthy role models, and maybe end up going to college to learn something of value.

If 10% of Disaffected NFL fans spent as much time on politics as they did on football... we might turn the country around!
Oh Joy. The "Goodness" of seeing thousands and thousands of hard working people supporting their families out of a job.
But....I'm sure you've got a plan for that.
