A decent character actor in his own right. RIP.
With both of his sons:
He was also the father of Clint Howard!
Who is a Hollywood conservative unlike his liberal brother Ron.
We’re watching Ron’s film about the Beatles about their touring years.
I noticed they didn’t mention Ron’s younger brother Clint, who also had a successful TV series. Must be because Clint is a Conservative...
Had no idea that was Clint Howard, or that Clint had so many notable roles.
I believe the report omitted the capital letter C from the line that begins, “lint and I.” That should read, “Clint and I,” near as I can tell.
Clint was the ‘Smog Strangler’ in a two-part Seinfeld episode.
RIP...
I watched Ron Howard’s film sat night on PBS. As someone who grew up with the Beatles, it was very enjoyable.
Our local PBS station followed it with a documentary on “Sgt Pepper” and the technical insight behind the recording. It was interesting to learn that the final elongated piano chord at end of “A Day In The Life”, also includes an electric organ and a harmonium and the mixing board was used to “stretch” the chord over 40 seconds.
I plan to purchase Giles Martin’s newly remixed and remastered “Sgt Pepper” that includes a High-Resolution 24-bit/96-khz DVD Audio.
I already own the remastered 24-bit/44-khz Beatles catalog on the Apple USB. The new remixing and higher sampling rate should offer even higher sound quality.
I also have various LP vinyl versions of the Beatles UK catalog (Parlophone label) including original first pressings (arguably the highest sound quality) and the famous “Blue Box” in both UK pressing and Japanese pressing.
Great. Giles Martin is the musical director for the Beatles Love show in Vegas. This Summer we did a Beatles tour of Liverpool. It was wonderful. We just saw Paul in concert and Ringo last week.
