Maybe it's the shock of it all, but can't believe no one had already posted a thread about this.
If the SEC gets 2 teams in the playoff itll be Georgia and Alabama. If Georgia beats Auburn there is no way in hell a 3 loss Auburn team gets in.
If Ohio State wins Alabama is in.
If Oklahoma loses Alabama is in.
Speaking of schedules what team of note did Auburn play out of conference? Clemson and they lost. The other out of conference teams were Mercer, Missouri and LA-Monroe.
Why would Alabama get in over Wisconsin? They both have 1 loss to a good team.
Meaningless comparisons among traditionally overrated teams. Alabama and Auburn together have won five of the last eight championship games, and played in seven of the last eight. No other conference or state can even remotely compare to that.
The relative strength of conferences varies some year to year, but not NY much.
Auburn has beaten the CFP committee’s no. 1 ranked team twice in the past 3 weeks and won the SEC West. Georgia’s best win is against now 3 loss Notre Dame team The winner of the SEC championship game is in the playoff.
Ohio State won the Big Ten East, the best division in the best conference in college football. In beating Wisconsin OSU would have won the best conference, and along the way beaten 2 top 10 teams in Wisconsin and Penn State, and a top 15 team in Michigan State.
Bama will have to try again next year.
Alabama right now is the 3rd best team in the SEC. And that doesn’t change after next Saturday.
In the college football playoffs the Big Ten, the SEC and the ACC each have won 1 championship...
I never thought I’d see Tennessee go winless in the conference. And it’s not as if there were any real good teams in the SEC (L)East, outside of Georgia this year.
Look at the programs that won National Championships in the 1990s and where they are now:
1993/1999 FSU - 2017 Record 5-6
1994/1995/1997 Nebraska - 2017 Record: 4-8
1996 Florida -2017 Record: 4-7
1998 Tennessee -2017 Record 4-8

I expected, because of all our defensive injuries, that we would struggle but I didn’t expect us to just roll over like we did. The team played with no urgency or fire.
Also, I am not thrilled with our first year OC. Bama possesses the best stable of running backs in College Football, yet at times, Coach Daboll seems to forget they exist. After storming down the field for a TD early in the third quarter, one would expect to think that Coach Daboll would stick with what was working. But NO.....
Bama fans aren’t enamored with our O line coach either. The line has been wildly inconsistent this year and was downright terrible today.
It would be nice, just for once, if the refs would call holding against Bama’s opponents. But, THAT will never happen, especially against the SEC darling, Auburn, in their stadium.
Oh well, you can’t win them all. There will be days when it’s just not your day and this was one of them.
I’m still fiercely proud of this team and to be a Bama fan. ROLL TIDE!!!
“Did Auburn lose to LSU?”
Yes. Yes they did.
Washington, Miami and Alabama won championships in the 90’s and are relevant in 2017.
And, just who is your team, troll?
ROLL DAMN TIDE!!
” Not surprised in the least.”
Me neither. Alabama arranged a ridiculous powder-puff schedule for itself this year, and Auburn dominated Georgia last week. I’m normally an Alabama fan, but think they deserved this given their BS schedule.
First game of the season Bama stomped the #3 team in the country. The school was FSU and they were loaded with a quarterback who was going to be in the running for the Heisman.FSU was the pre-season favorite to win the ACC, not Clempson. Bama knocked the quarterback out in the 4th quarter. FSU was never the same playing without him. The committee needs to give Alabama credit for dominating a healthy FSU team. They then beat every team in front of them, mostly by two or more touchdowns.
Auburn played one good out of conference team in Clemson and lost.
The others were Mercer, Missouri and LA-Monroe, all cupcakes. They also lost to LSU, who Alabama beat.
No 2 loss team should be in the BCS. Its BS.
Thats why I hope Georgia beats Auburn in the SEC title game.
Auburn finally has a passing quarterback == a Texan.
LSU outscored Auburn, that’s how.
Can’t win them all. The better team won.
Quit calling me shirley.
Even if Alabama has three loses, they might put them in the playoffs?
