If the NFL goes, college football, if it survives, will be an intermural sport.
That wouldn’t be a bad thing. It may bring back the days when the service academies were among the top teams in the country. It would be nice to see teams be successful with real students instead of the semi-literates that flood the football factory teams of today.
Not necessarily. College football in the 20s & 30's was much bigger than the pro game. But the college game would take a hit if only because the best athletes would be considering other sports where they could still have the possibility of a high-paying pro career.
Either the college game would return to something approaching the amateur ideal, or it would return to an even more wild state where the college game would BE the Pro game.
