Entrapment —the action of tricking someone into committing a crime in order to secure their prosecution.
Example: “his style of investigation constitutes entrapment.”

I don’t think that qualifies as entrapment. Unless am officer pointed the package out and suggested stealing it, to the malefactor.

#3. Wrong about “entrapment”. Entrapment entails making someone do something illegal that they wouldn’t normally do.

This old “bait box” trick has been legal for decades. Cops used “bikes” to catch a lot of thieves and in DC, the police mounted two great “sting” operations to catch thieves, burglars, robbers. One was called “GYA” (Got You Again). Even wrote a book about it.

If you trespass to commit a criminal act (i.e. theft), then there is no entrapment.

Please learn the law. I did.
