Youth Pastor?

These come in all shapes, sizes, experience and ability. I would like to know more about this “youth pastor.” Certainly makes for a catchy headline. Different than “young welder,” or “literature tutor.” Yet, you seldom see the suspect’s job listed in the headline, unless you are somehow connected with Christianity (no matter how tenuously), a teacher or a Republican.

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23
Religions are systems. The Pharisees were “religious”. Moonies are “religious”. There is no substitute for the real thing - a relationship with Jesus. Just because the guy was a pastor, doesn’t make him a Christian. He may say he is, but see above scripture. Or, he may be severely mentally ill.
