Sounds like when Tampa was hit with the Blizzard of 1977, when <1” hit the city.

You can make an excuse for Florida - but Ireland? Of course, London has these meltdowns as well.

As the banking sector moved many jobs from the NYC area to North Carolina, those employees that could make the move to keep their jobs described how they didn’t have the gear to deal with snow and ice down there. Years ago, my company had branches in Georgia where everything would shut down due to just a layer of ice or snow that stuck to the pavement; people didn’t know how to drive on it, and they had no salt trucks, plows, etc..

I wonder if that is still the case; I believe some places spray seawater now.

The actual notable blizzard was on 01/08/1982, which they still call the “Big Snow”. At least 1½ feet of snow in the Dublin area, with 6-foot snowdrifts.

This pic shows buses stuck on the road between Skerries and Rush in northern Dublin county, about 19 miles from Dublin’s city center.

Will MSM pick this story up? Nope. Just “hottest Thanksgiving on record” somewhere in California.
Pathetic crap-weasel liars.

No, this wouldn’t have been the “blizzard” I was caught in. It was about 1 1/2 inches the next day.

Well, with a dearth of snow plows and road salt, things do get hairy if it gets icy. On top of that, most cars over there are barely over 2,000 lbs (even though these days the Hyundai Tucson is reportedly their “best selling car”; it’s still in the minority), so traction goes down exponentially.

Yes, I would imagine. To a northeastern American visiting, it was perplexing! I had no idea how to get back to my hotel. I still remember the civil servants throwing snowballs at each other.
