There are millions of formerly middle-class folks who were foreclosed on as a result of the great fraud of Wall St. bankers trading on their homes and taking down the economy for profit. Many of these formerly middle-class are living in their cars or RVs and they will give the shirt off their backs to someone in need as a matter of dignity because they feel ashamed.
This travesty is due to Obama who had his people rake in hundreds of billions in bank settlements only to pass them to leftist crony groups. This is all true.
But of course, we never heard much in the MSM about homelessness until Donald Trump took office.
There was more than Obama buddies who helped to crash our economy. It's still bifurcated and corrupted. Trump ran on such things, and such problems still exists, and I doubt will be fixed.
I had a similar thought. The man in this article hit a bad patch that was exacerbated by an economy that was being strangled by a marxist president and feckless Congress. Things still have a many miles long road to go to improve.
It also occurred to me that “there but for the grace of God go I”. Expenses and taxes never seem to end, and the cost of living keeps rising.

I was watching a tv show just last night that covered 3 girls in a town in Iowa bordering Illinois talking about how hard it has been for them and their families growing up in the last 8 years during the “great recession.”
These stories are interesting to me because the msm is too stupid to realize the disconnect. The msm will show these stories regarding the damage to families due to the “great recession” and then without missing a beat, the msm will tell how great Obama has been for the economy.
