LOVE IT!
I used to put my conferences in places I wanted to visit. So, for Montreal, I put it at a Hyatt, thinking the food would be better than the Sheraton. But what was so difficult was the purple and orange carpets everywhere. It really looked a lot like this brochure.
I put one conference in New Orleans just so I could take the executive committee to dinner at Jonathan’s, an Art Deco restaurant with which I was in love. We’re having Thanksgiving in a restaurant. Wish it was that one, but long gone.
Yeah, I’d have loved to stay at The Gobbler myself. Lileks site is chock full of such entertaining oddities. He writes for the Minneapolis Star Trib, but he leans conservative.
