If you are rich you will get a liver transplant no matter what, if you are an alcoholic, crack addict or even have cancer. If you got the money they will get you a liver. Look at crack addict and constant Trump basher David Crosby. He said he smoked so much crack that the cocaine crystals started forming under his skin. He gets a new liver. Or John Philips of the Mamas and Papas, he said he did heroin and cocaine every 15 minutes for 2 years as well as alcohol. Gets a new liver no problem, and not only that, a week after getting out of the hospital they caught him at the bar drinking. When they asked what he was doing he said “Breaking in the new liver”. And then you get to Mickey Mantle, hard core alcoholic and he gets a new liver only he also had cancer but they gave him the new liver ANYWAY.

I don't know how this transplant ranking works. My sister's husband got ill a month ago, her daughter is a nurse and said to get him to a hospital pronto. Brother-in-law is like me, we don't like doctors and avoid going frequently for checkups. So he goes in, and starts getting worse with ailments to the point where he went into ICU last week due to liver failure, and then kidney failure. Got some kind of massive infection that quickly took him downhill in a couple weeks. Guy doesn't do drugs, smoking or drinking, puzzled as to why he got sick.

Surprised me how quickly he got approved for a liver transplant. My sister got a call last night that a donor is on life support and that the operation will proceed tonight. As for being rich, I don't think that is a factor although my brother-in-law is very well off. All the money in the world is meaningless if you lose your health. My sister is going nuts because he's telling her what she needs to know in case he doesn't make it. I'm hoping he does as well as a close friend who was at death's door and got a kidney transplant 6 months ago, and got so healthy she was out dancing within a couple months and looks great. Scary stuff, transplants.
