Apparently CBS News doesn’t share his enthusiasm for that practice. They terminated his employment this morning, effective immediately.

Still waiting for the PBS shoe to drop. Severing those ties may be a bit more complicated, since Rose’s production company produced the show for public TV, and Bloomberg is involved as well. The talk program was produced at a Bloomberg studio and apparently aired on that network as well.

Whatever legal wrangling takes place, it’s a sure bet that Rose is finished at PBS and Bloomberg as well. And after that, watch “Charlie Rose Inc.” (the production company) file bankruptcy and the host may file a personal bankruptcy as well. Based on what’s been reported, it looks like Rose might have to pay out millions in lawsuits, and for someone who’s been a well-paid media figure for decades, his reported net worth ($23 million) is surprisingly low. Rose will be doing all he can to protect his assets when the lawyers come calling.
