This time of year, I drive to work in the dark and drive home in the dark.

I am amazed at the number of vehicles driving with no headlights.

Each and every day and night.

I did a couple of business trips in San Antonio. I stayed in a motel that had a one-way southbound road that fronted the entrance. My first night there I was leaving the motel to meet up with some friends, when the clerk told me to exercise caution leaving the parking lot. I asked him why, and he just said "Crazy drivers sometimes."

As I was leaving, another motel resident pulled me aside and said "He can't tell you, but I will. It's the illegals. They drive around at night with their lights off 'cause they figure that way the cops won't see them."

Sure enough, as I prepared to pull out, I looked carefully up the road. A car or two came southbound with their lights off, blaring loud mariachi music.

These are Interstate Highways.
