According to Dr. Fung's book, for the fasting period, you want to avoid anything that will trigger the insulin response from your body. This is a Type II thing only. During the fast, eating a piece of dark chocolate or even half a piece of toast is enough to mess things up.

So essentially, you are correct. It's the reset that's the goal. But spreading it out like the 'grazing' thing many speak of is not going to illicit the same effect.

I kept/keep detailed records of my frequent blood sugar testing results while fasting. I see good results and have been able to cut back on the amount of insulin I use. My hope is to eliminate it completely someday.
