“Modern Sporting Rifle”.
Remember, laws proposed in the past have a ‘catch all” praise that goes something like this.
‘A rifle designed for sporting use may not be considered a “sporting rifle” by this law’
This was designed to sweep up semi-auto rifles used in various military style sporting competitions.
I think there might be a typo or a boolean error in there somewhere but yeah, I agree, the term "MSR" does indeed make it clear that this new Rifle I just bought, or maybe I didn't, is a flat shooting 6.5 Grendel that's gonna just totally gonna be the bomb for deer hunting out in western Oklahoma.
If someone infers problem with the overall function and versatility of it... let's politely say that's their problem.
