“It’s amazing to be able to run at an easy pace and steadily get faster with no real increase in exertion.”

Can’t tell you how many people I’ve tried to sell that to. People are really resistant to the notion.

Well, it’s pretty counterintuitive, isn’t it? I fell into the intervals trap. My 400m and 800m times improved, but my distance running (anything over a mile, really) got steadily worse despite the “new wisdom” telling me that intervals with maybe a single long run per week was the way to go.

No more!
