Another Defendant Moves Court To Oust Reyna And His Staff

Waco – Rolando Reyes asked the judge to disqualify the elected Criminal District Attorney in the case against him, a charge of engaging in organized criminal activity filed on Sunday, May 17, 2015, following his arrest at Twin Peaks Restaurant.

The motion drafted by his attorney former Galveston District Judge Susan Criss is adamant about Reyna’s allegedly biased and criminal role in his administration prior to the Twin Peaks affair, as revealed in an affidavit filed by Greg Davis, a former lead prosecutor from Reyna’s office.

Reyes is one of a trio of defendants including Matt Clendennen and Paul Landers who sought and obtained the recusal of Criminal District Judge Ralph T. Strother for bias against them in an August 30, 2017, ruling by visiting Judge James Morgan.

Reyna called for his own recusal in the Clendennen case, prompting the appointment of three special prosecutors by visiting judge Doug Shaver of Harris County, who had himself been appointed to hear the case following the self recusal of 54th District Judge Matt Johnson, Reyna’s former law partner.

In the Reyes motion for Reyna’s disqualification, Judge Criss has outlined some reasons foremost among others for the requested disqualification of Reyna and his entire staff.

In before everybody except you, T-bone, wastedyears, and Elderberry. Nobody beats that first one, other than Jim Parks..(?)

I love the smell of legal napalm in the morning, it smells like victory vindication.

for many freepers who expressed complaint.

Judge Criss, although not alone, provides for us some of that vindication.

The motion drafted by his attorney former Galveston District Judge Susan Criss is adamant about Reyna’s allegedly biased and criminal role in his administration prior to the Twin Peaks affair ...

And this one (which has been central to my own position from day 1)

"...the primary responsibility of the office of prosecutor is that of obtaining and establishing justice, not just the role of seeking victory in a case, according to a landmark case cited in the legal memo."

I've been called lots of "names" for insisting on the last, above. There are a few on FR (none of whom this comment is addressed to) who owe me an apology.

I do not believe that I'll ever hear it.

But I will say this. Those people should watch their mouths more closely in the future.

I don’t know what that means.

I should have annotated the title as another of many Waco postings(which go back to 5/17/2015.)

Parts of 'G' and 'H' are speculative, but parts of even those are not speculative. The rest of it is factual enough to matter.

No more 'ex parte' Book of Waco manipulations of procedure, please. That crap has got to stop.

I am Not Allowed to post anything about Waco as News. Only chat.

So you get chat, and only chat.

Some better, some not.

It may be just me, I don't know. Maybe others are allowed to post articles about Waco, as News.

I wonder if it can depend on the source? News agencies could rank higher, but putting news even from those sources in “General Chat” is probably fitting — unless there’s something big about it? A judge declaring mistrial could rank as “news” instead of general jibber-jabber I would think.

News agencies could rank higher

Do a "Test Case".

So far your only Waco article posting is in chat.

I hear what you're saying. Had the thought occur to me before. But like I'd mentioned, it would need to have significance.

If certain prosecutors are barred from bringing defendants to trial -- that would newsworthy in and of itself.

In this context I'd have to go with Waco Trib, or else (even preferably) any other notable newspaper and/or tv station coverage.

Sources such as Jim Parks, and Aging Rebel would have to go to Chat. Or so I think, anyway.

And that's right where I posted them. And yet you complain.

Me? Huh?

I saw once, or maybe twice a forum moderator complain, posting to you to not post this stuff in "news".

The only complaint I can recall having raised with you personally, was couple of years ago I complained to you about using 'Legendary' as a source -- but have since then changed my mind, and apologized to you for that while I used that source, myself.

You must be confusing me with someone else?

I'm not a forum moderator -- and I'm not the one who complained that all this stuff should be in "Chat" -- even though I did see the point when a moderator raised it (this stuff has been controversial, but due mainly to 'Princess' with her/it's perennial pea under her/it's mattress) and agreed with what one moderator said -- post this stuff in Chat.

Please, take all that into account, and then what I've posted to you in just previous comments will make better sense. It's more like I'm in the same boat as you are, regarding this subject matter.
