President Donald Trump confirmed that he did intervene with China President Xi Jinping in the case of three UCLA basketball players who were arrested after shoplifting in China and those players are set to leave the country.

LiAngelo Ball, the younger brother of Los Angeles Lakers rookie guard Lonzo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill, were arrested last Tuesday for allegedly stealing from a Louis Vuitton store next to the team's hotel in Hangzhou before their season opener against Georgia Tech.

They are American citizens so I don't think Trump should turn his back on them.

On the other hand, if the presidents expects any thanks or credit from BLM, media, democrats, or African-Americans in general (all the same group basically) he is going to be out of luck.

I would prefer the idiot criminals did the time. All of it. Just because they play a stupid game well doesnt mean they should get a pass for everything. They are just going to be angry entitled millionaires who hate America and all things white anyway.

It is amazing these retards can get a sports scholarship yet they are stupid to be shop lifting in a foreign nation. You can take them out of the hood but you cannot take the hood out of them

Or, send them to USC, simultaneously raising the IQ of both schools.

IIUC, he asked that the resolution of the case be expedited, as the Chinese legal system could have taken months to resolve it. He did not request any amnesty.

IF this is their first violations they will be treated just like all the other first time offenders in society . . .

I look at "first time offenders" as being "first time caught doing it,"

They were guests, in a foreign country, representing their school, their basketball team and our country. The president leaving them there and allowing the Chinese justice system to work wouldn’t be turning his back on them. It’s justice, the law of their land.

When we were stationed overseas with the military, we were told in no uncertain terms, that the US would not step in to “save us” should we break the law. The embassy would assure our health and well being, but we knew good and well we’d face that country’s justice system should we break the law.

Nothing wrong with leaving them there. They reflected poorly on our country and their school and team. Time for them to face the music.
