Ammon Bundy will have one more chance to argue for his release on Monday.

The third Bunkerville Standoff Trail in Las Vegas has been delayed for several motions to be resolved before opening arguments.

Thursday saw a pre-trial detention release hearing for the four defendants, Cliven Bundy, his two sons Ryan and Ammon, as well as defendant Ryan Payne.

Bret Whipple, attorney for Cliven Bundy, argued for release of his client citing his age and failing health. The elder Bundy has noticeably weakened since his incarceration nearly two years ago.

Whipple told the court of Bundy’s dental problems, noting that the 71-year-old has had to pull several of his own teeth in his attempts to stop infections. Dental care is minimal in the CCA detention center.

Cliven Bundy’s oldest daughter, Sharee Cox, was visibly upset during the hearing and was removed by the US Marshals for shaking her head in disbelief. The Marshals have banned her from the courtroom for the remainder of the trial. She did tell her father that she loved him as she was led out of the room.

Navarro did not delay her ruling and said that his lack of respect for federal rules and regulations is one reason he will stay in jail.

Ryan Payne was also denied release quickly by Judge Gloria Navarro. Navarro cited Payne’s guilty plea in the Malheur Protest Trial in Oregon and that he is awaiting sentencing in that case. Judge Anna Brown, who presided over the Oregon case does have standing to weigh in on the issue of Payne’s release, should Navarro chose to consider it.

Ammon Bundy testified and argued for his own release and promised the court that he would abide by all restrictions and curfews set for him. Prosecutor Daniel Scheiss made every attempt to paint a picture of a man that could not be trusted. Judge Navarro delayed her ruling saying that she will give the prosecutors another chance to make their case on Monday, Nov 13th.

Ryan Bundy, who should have had a great chance at release, was also denied. Ryan made a compelling argument for his release citing the need for trial preparation. Navarro has indicated that she would like to see him be on “equal footing” with the other attorneys, as he is defending himself. Bundy, however, has not been allowed this equal footing, since he has been denied basic preparation materials, including a pen and paper on occasion.

Surely you haven’t forgotten that the Bundys’ chose to steal public grazing for their cattle. Monies owed to the US Taxpayer, the owners of those lands. When the Bundys chose to quit paying, they should have vacated the lands and let others, who were willing to pay, using those grazing lands. The Bundys are nothing more than thieves.

The US taxpayers own and have owned these lands. Get over it. No one is rushing out to sell them, they are public treasure. Nor is anyone stand by while thieves like the Bundys refuse to pay.

Paying the county is a donation to the county, not payment to the US taxpayer. His grazing contract was with the US government.

The discussion thread here is about the Bundys.

The dispute over paying grazing fees came after the enforcement of the Endangered Species Act on Bundy and other ranchers which drove all of Cliven Bundy’s neighbors out of business.

Bundy has written the checks and sent them to Nevada as in Clark County, Nevada.

The story of Cliven Bundy begins with the federal government using environmental regulations to destroy farmers and ranchers in Clark County, Nevada like Cliven Bundy.

Get over it

Have no intention of that.

Unlike you, I have worked those lands as a cowhand - back when the BLM was the friend of the American rancher.

Every single square foot of that land should be put up for auction and sold to the highest bidder or better yet, turned over for inclusion in the Homestead Act. My ancestors in Nebraska used that to build themselves a life on the plains after the un-Civil War drove them West into the Union from the South. They were abolitionists.

Free Soil, Free Labor. The original battle cry of the Republican Party, a party my family has been part of since it started.

The Wannabe Aristocrats of Washington DC can go to H=E=Double Toothpicks since they think it's "their" land (I have heard BLM people use that language).

The States are Sovereign. The Federal government is supposed to own courthouses, customs houses, the area reserved for them in the Federal city, and of course the military bases...which should be fewer in number and the State militias should occupy the ones left over (Repeal the Dick Act).

That's how you get back to Original Intent, bubba.

AG Sessions, why do you insist on going out of your way to give effusive verbal praise to the judge and the prosecutors? Oh that’s right, about Asset Forfeiture you exclaimed: “What’s not to love?”

Those responsible for their crimes against the Bundys and all patriots, are deserving of the utmost punishment for their evil deeds. May it be so, in spades.

Flattering, but unlikely!

All I’ve got is FR to air my opinion...and hopefully, we can keep that. Undoubtedly President Hildebeast would have put an end to that thorn in her side!!

= = =

Before dealing with the Bundys cows allegedly stealing some sage brush, let’s deal with Hellary and Harry stealing land for Uranium. And maybe throw in Bill stealing coal for China.

The sage brush will grow back.

Yes, what a statement.

Wonder if there was a response to his statement.

The judge banned his daughter from the courtroom for shaking her head.

Actually that was an excuse, she was banned because of what she wrote about the court proceedings.

Even judges are eventually judged. No one escapes that one.

This is the problem with Federal Courts. The founders intended the federal court systems to be few and for very uncommon cases. They knew that the court system needed to be local and as open and fair as possible.

Now we witness “mass arrests” and confinement for years for offenses that hinge upon being declared “criminal conspiracies” which give huge power to the prosecutors and investigators to use draconian technology to dissect ever aspect, word and movement of humans to create a crime where none exists.

Too many laws, too much bureaucracy, too little oversight, too much centralized power over human life.

Yes.

But remember that was in a military court. But even that court clearly had a political hobble on it. Which is not normal.

You miss the point in all of this.

Those beautiful public assets you describe are obligate to foreign interests. Those obligations have been made by those POLs who act for their own interests. Not that of the “public”.

This is about Harry Reid’s own chosen judge covering his crippled criminal past.

This has never been simply about cattle or grazing. This is about abuse of power by powerful POLs.

Some people prefer to be victims an martyrs. It works to some extent. Look at the diehard fans the Bundy’s have around here.

I’ve never said I was a “fan” of Bundy. Although my family has owned/operated farms in this county since 1889. And before that in several other states.

But we owned the land, it did not belong to the Federal Government. This county was divided up in 1885, my ancestors came here in 1889. (I was gone for 25 years, back since 1995, it’s still home.)

I traveled the West and Midwest on business for 30 of my 35 years in the distribution business. I know the kind of people that the Bundy’s are.

I also know what Bureaucrats are. Federal Bureaucrats are a whole other species.

What is happening here is totally insane. There is no reason this should be. Except to cover up what powerful POLs have done.

The is different discussion. Bundys had contracts to graze, initially paid, then stopped paying while still continuing to graze their cattle. Thieves. There were are are other ranchers waiting in line for those grazing rights.

Dress them up with all kinds of excuses, but at the end of the day, Bundys are simply thieves. Jail is where they belong.

You said: “There were are are other ranchers waiting in line for those grazing rights. “

Totally Wrong. You don’t know a thing about ranching or farming.

And this never was about cattle or grazing rights either. This is about corruption in high places in the Fed Gov.
