Never mind pulling something like that in Hong Kong. To rub salt in the wound, she pronounces it like it’s pronounced in Mandarin instead of Cantonese, “Xiang-gang”.

Yes, Hong Kong is quite different from Taipei, and no doubt the reaction would be
different. Taipei is more like the Midwest, and HK like the East/West Coasts. The visceral
versus the cerebral. But I am partial to Taiwan, while in awe of Hong Kong. (My
impressions are from the late 1970s)
