Innocent until PROVEN guilty. It is the accuser who must PROVE his accusations.
Personally, I have always hated that phrase “Innocent until proven guilty.”
The word “until” makes it sound like a guilty verdict is a foregone conclusion, just like a kangaroo court.
The correct saying should be, “Innocent UNLESS proven guilty.”
