Is it just me, or is there actually no real apology in that? I read it twice, just to make sure. At one point, he says he has “been remorseful” for his actions. He outlines his inappropriate actions and how dumb they were, but there’s really no actual apology in this.
This is an apology in action. By owning it, he’s sparing the women the speculation about their past, their motives, and their complicity in what he did. One reason so few victims come forward is that exploiters usually don’t only deny everything, they go nuclear, and recruit allies to trash every aspect of their victims’ lives. He’s done the exact opposite of what the Cosbys and Clintons of the world do. It’s what separates people who do bad things from people who are just bad.
