Great story.
A couple of minor errors. The Japanese constructed the airstrip or at least mostly did. The Marines captured the nearly complete strip. Also John Browning’s famous continuous firing lasted 5 minutes not 25. It took place in Colt’s basement and literally shook up everyone who was there.
Can you imagine listening to a machine gun fire continuously for 5 minutes indoors?
Re: MG fire - I’d rather not. A trip to the range on the weekend is more than enough, with hearing protection.
