And don’t forget that the Las Vegas shooter and his girlfriend were photographed at an anti-Trump pally in Reno, NV. He was wearing one of those pink hats.
Lately, my motto has been:
My goal is not simply to defeat the left. My goal is to destroy the left.
If the progressive left keeps attacking and/or shooting our party leaders (Scalise, Paul) they may bite off more than they can chew an choke on the swallowing.
This is what resistance is to me, in WWII terms. Only we are not the Nazis.
They’d kill us all if they could. They believe their desire to eliminate us from the face of the earth is a virtue.
I know of no such feeling on our side.
I want to defeat them in the arena of ideas. I know that will never be done, though. The best we can hope for is a swinging pendulum, and that we can keep them from shoving the clock to make the pendulum go so far to the left that it smashes everything, the clock and everything around it.
IMO, there are people with poor impulse control (PIC) on both side of the political divide.
These are the ones who act out without thinking of the consequences, and so by definition, are the first to jump into action. Folks with PIC are also folks who can be seen as being outside of the mainstream or of being a little weird.
The reason I bring this up is because the time will come when someone with PIC decides that enough is enough and goes after one of the anointed on the left.
When this happens, the left will latch-on to any of the peculiarities exhibited by the perpetrator and paint with a broad brush to once again push the narrative that all conservatives are the same.
This of course will justify more violence from the left, and the cycle will continue.
