I’m sorry. C’mon down to Texas ya hear?.........;)

I've been to Texas. Spent the Sabbath at a rabbi's house in San Antonio. One San Antonio resident, seeing me park my rental car in the Orthodox synagogue's parking lot, looked me over real good. He went round and round, looking at me from every angle. "Where are they?" he inquired of me. "Where's what?" I asked. "Them horns! Don't Jews have horns?" I promise you, this really happened.

When I went out to my car Saturday night after the Sabbath, to hook up with a friend to go herping that night in NM, I found the entire windshield shattered and a head-sized rock sitting on the front seat. Yep, that's real Western hospitality, right?

I'd like to see other parts of Texas and explore the lizards and other wildlife in those parts as well, minus the cretins who do stuff as described above.

Oh my Lord - this happened in San Antonio? I live 70 miles west in a small town. The only reason i go to San Antonio is Bass Pro Shop or to buy a new car. I'm sorry your trip there was so bad. I'm a 6th generation Texan and have never heard of such horrible treatment of a visitor. We do however have our share of crazy people of late and a dwindling population of the Horned Toad.

We have our problems with idiots down here too. Your lizards and wildlife can be all over but Big Bend area is where you’ll see them in droves with the cactus (cacti?) and desert country. That’s why the ads say to visit Texas.......it’s a whole other country and they be’s right..........;)
