The first crash killed their Chief Pilot and another Company Employee. Pilot error was the cause.
According to Wikipedia, all the U.S. Models were required by the FAA to be equipped with a Parachute System.

I was all set to go fishing this morning but something held me up. I probably would have seen it being our family are all small plane pilots so we look at all the planes that fly near us. That area can be pretty shallow there and low tide was 930am . Because it flipped Im wondering if he got stuck inside?
It’s hard to imagine what could have gone wrong.
We saw him one year ago when he was inducted into the Florida State League MiLB Hall of Fame. He sat at the table next to us. Seemed like a very nice man. Very sad news.
I think most pro sports contracts are voided if the player is injured or killed while engaged in certain types of dangerous activities like flying, off-road driving, skiing, hang gliding, etc.
The photos here make it look like he probably died on impact.

I can’t imagine paying $350,000 for a plane with a Rotax engine.
Yes I agree,but it has a parachute and its an amphibian. Theres 2000 deposits on this thing, people waiting. Wonder whats going to happen to the company. The safety record not so great.
