If you’ve ever configured networks using Unix scripts, you’ll know what can happen.

Having worked in IT for 35 years, I’m amazed that the internet is as stable as it is. They must do a lot of checking and testing on the backbones.

Apparently, this was some sort of DNS push.

Very true. It's come a long way since the days of the little ARPANET nodes we started with.
