There have been many threads on this very Topic in recent months.

And we will probably see similar things said here that have been said already.

Those in favor of legalization argue from the libertarian Viewpoint that it’s up to each individual to make their choices regarding what substances to put in their own body.

Those opposed to legalization will say that marijuana is a dangerous drug and laws were passed against its use for good reasons.

I am not sure where I stand personally. I don’t use recreational drugs so this issue does not impact me personally. But I’m interested to see others opinions as to how far Society should go to protect people from a perceived Danger.

“But I’m interested to see others opinions as to how far Society should go to protect people from a perceived Danger.”

The argument is about which “Society” should be making those laws - state or federal. On a forum dedicated to restoring constitutional government, it shouldn’t even be a discussion. You either support the 10th Amendment or you don’t.

You need to look into the reasons MJ was made illegal in the first place.

I don’t have a dog in the fight. Don’t use it, don’t care to have it around me. I think it’s a nonissue at this point: the bulk of the population either lives in a state where use is legal or is in easy driving distance of a state where it’s legal. For better or worse, the issue has been resolved. Also I don’t see politicians resisting the revenues that legalization would provide. So Legalization will spread.

Personally I don’t view it as the governments place to protect everyone from every potential folly. Take stupid drugs, win stupid prizes. Not that my opinion much matters at this point.
