Opinion: Xi Jinping Thought Combines Mao's Totalitarianism And Deng's Crony Capitalism

On the opening day of China's 19th Party Congress, North Korea sent a letter congratulating the Communist Party of China for its "correct guidance" in making “great progress in accomplishing the cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics.”

If Kim Jong-un and Xi Jinping haven't agreed on much lately, they certainly agree on that. Xi Jinping has made it unmistakably clear at the Party Congress that China will uphold Marxism, Leninism and Maoism. To show he is shoulder to shoulder with Mao, Xi had his name and ideology, so-called "Xi Jinping Thought," written into the Party's constitution. In addition, Xi didn't appoint a successor -- a common practice of the Party since 2002 to ensure a smooth power transition. This reinforces the speculation that Xi will continue to be in power, possibly indefinitely, after his term is up in 2022.

All this sounds too familiar. People in China are whispering: it's like the Cultural Revolution all over again. Now, intellectuals are silenced, private business people are scared, the press is only allowed to sing the Party's praises. Civil society, which was minimal before, is being crushed to non-existence.

Just remember two things:

“Never trust a communist”.

“They’re communists. What did you expect”?

China’s economic liberalization can be officially declared to be “over.” Let’s just finally pop any of those remaining dreamy bubbles Westerners have about China moving steadily towards some kind of “free market” liberal economy and politics.

Xi Jinping has told Chinese, and the world, that the State and the Party will dominate the Chinese economy and society. It was always true, but now it is believed more thoroughly. Xi has already delineated the borders of how much ‘free market” he wants and will allow.

That’s great news for us. Currently, China’s the most capitalist nation in the world. China returning to Communism will give an opportunity to drag our economy out from under regulatory socialism that’s been strangling us for 30+ years now.

China going full communist is a wonderful thing for us. Now as for our own communists, time to purge them. We made a mistake extending them Constitutional rights during the cold war. As soon as they got into power they took away our rights in mass. No more kid gloves.

Thinking about Xi just makes makes me laught my ass off. It seems that no matter which country it is, there is always some megalomaniac asshole that will put millions of people in poverty to make themselves rich and to feed their ego.

China, I hope that you truly enjoy the shit sandwich that Xi is preparing for you.

I hope that someday America gives the worst of the traitous left the choice of emigrating or a long stretch in prison. It is far past time to kick these parasites in the face.

Just got back from two weeks in China and have a few observations, for what it’s worth.

I was incredibly impressed with the amount of progress they’ve made over the past 30 years since they adopted capitalism. It is nothing short of a miracle. The number of BMWs, Mercedes, Audis, Lexus, Cadillacs, RangeRovers, Jaguars, Infinities, even Teslas, etc. I saw on the road in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing was comparable to what one sees in an upscale town in the Bay Area.

Same thing with skyscrapers - you see them everywhere - modern and beautiful. Many are residential condos costing millions. The other thing that impressed me is how clean these huge cities were (in terms of rubbish). And the two shopping malls I saw put anything in the bay area to shame.

What I saw was a confident, proud nation and people. They are a formidable competitor/adversary and will only get stronger.

Xi wants to expand the market based economy and wants to play a larger role in the world. He definitely has aspirations to be a world leader.

Yes, they are a single party dictatorship, but they have been shrewd enough to take care not only of themselves but also significantly improve the lives of hundreds of millions (unlike Chavez and Maduro in Venezuela).

I’m beginning to view this period of China as the start of another dynasty - I don’t know yet what it will be called, but I would not at all be surprised that that’s what this era will turn out to be - a new dynasty. And the Chinese are used to that type of government, they’ve had 5000 years of it. So they, unlike us, may very well put up with modern-day “emperors” - it’s in their DNA by now.

How successful they will be depends on whether Xi and his successors will continue to be as shrewd at keeping not just themselves but also the people happy and prosperous, as they have done the past 30 years.

Time will tell.

Regardless, I heartily recommend a visit to China to all freepers - I guarantee it will an eye opening and educational experience.

You only saw a small part on China. There is a ugly other side to what you witnessed.
