What is IPS?
LCD = Liquid Crystal Diode
LED = Light Emitting Diode
Plasma was before LCD but threw-off so much heat it was like walking past a blast furnace when I went to look at them at the store
That had to be a huge energy wast
LCD were better - and If i remember it correctly one of the selling points was how they emitted almost no heat
LED were even better and they used so much less power that laptop batter life doubled
OLED was amazing, the first time I saw it
Adding to Bobalu’s comment, I have a cheap chromebook connected to a big screen (which I am surfing on now) via a 14’ HDMI cable. The laptop in sitting beside me on an end table and the peripherals are a battery operated mini keyboard and a wireless mini mouse used on the chair arm or my leg.
My kids use the same set up but have a keyboard with a touch pad. I find surfing goes faster with a separate mouse and keyboard.
