The accuser was talking about something that was supposed to have happened thirty years ago; Spacey says he doesn't recall the incident, but that he's sorry if it did happen; production on Spacey’s current show is suspended halfway through an entire season. What if Spacey had responded, “This never happened”? Just saying we should all brace ourselves for a world in which there are no more criminal or civil trials.
There are no criminal or civil trials at work. You take home some cash belonging to the company, say you were drunk, you apologize, younthought it was your can still fire you.
This may be the tip of the accusations iceberg against Spacey; Netflix going the “better safe than sorry” route, in case additional alleged victims emerge.
