Sure, there's less suspensions and arrests---because principals have been told by the NYC Dept. of "Education" not to give miscreant students suspensions, lest they raise the stats and make the school look bad. Read the first article I posted here, about the principal of the school where the student was knifed to death in the school having asked the NYC Dept. of "Education" to install a metal detector in his school and having been refused by that august body of fools. Had there been a metal detector, that kid might still be alive. But no, PC is more important than student safety. Wouldn't want anyone to think that school was dangerous, right? That is the NYC Dept. of "Education" all over---appearances over substance, turning out thousands of illiterates who can barely do sums on their fingers and who can't think their way out of a wet paper bag.

In my neck of the woods principals are given bonuses for reducing suspensions. And reducing suspensions is one thing looked at when promoting principals. So guess what? There are less suspensions.

Classroom fights and hallway fights, they are increasing. But suspensions are down. So it’s all good.

NYC public schools are training grounds for when the little tykes get sent to prison. You son’t want them to go there inexperienced, do you?
